“Staying active during cancer treatment and still maintain a positive outlook can help prevent some of the symptoms that arise as a result of treatment,” said Bower.

The research team is now testing the effectiveness of yoga as a treatment for fatigue and tai chi to help overcome insomnia. Also known cognitive behavioral therapy can help patients with insomnia than the general population, is also expected to help overcome the problem of fatigue and insomnia in cancer patients.

“When someone is facing stresses and challenges, then they will need more effort in order to get a good night’s sleep. Hence it is becoming an important thing for cancer patients,” said Enderlin.
